In April 2025, the Danish Geodata Agency will discontinue its weekly publication: Chart Corrections. Going forward, nautical chart corrections will instead be published continuously on the website www.gst.dk . The format will transition to compiling nautical chart corrections for each chart into a single file. This makes it easier for users to find all corrections for the respective chart. In addition, changes are also being made to descriptions, in that chart blocks and plans will no longer be used. Instead, descriptions will be exclusively text-based and in English. This change is being made in connection with the transition to a Print on Demand solution for paper nautical charts, which you can read more about in the article here .
Changes to the format for nautical chart corrections:
Nautical chart corrections are still available via the ‘Chart by Chart’ page on www.gst.dk.
The format is being changed to a single file containing all accumulated corrections for each chart.
Chart blocks and plans will no longer be used. Correction descriptions will be entirely text-based and in English.
This change aligns with the transition to a Print on Demand (POD) solution for paper nautical charts and will help to ensure the more flexible and efficient distribution of updated charts.
The current format for nautical chart corrections is a single document containing the last week’s corrections to multiple charts. It is available on the Danish Geodata Agency's website. The corrections are described using text, symbols, positions or via chart blocks and plans. This document has been published every Wednesday with descriptions of the corrections in both Danish and English.
The future format will publish corrections on an on-going basis per chart on the Danish Geodata Agency's website. All corrections will be described via text and positions. Chart blocks, plans and symbols will no longer be used. If a correction cannot be described in text, the chart will be updated and a new edition will be made available. Users should be aware that chart corrections are generalised in that chart corrections are described for charts at the largest scale.
