If you wish to reproduce an extract from a nautical chart, you will generally need a reproduction permit from the Danish Geodata Agency. This applies when a nautical chart, or parts of a nautical chart, is to be used in a new context, for example in a publication, on a website, in a report, in educational material or in a digital solution.
A reproduction permit is required because the Danish Geodata Agency must assess the specific use of the nautical chart material, including which chart extract is to be used, how the material will be reproduced, and the purpose of the reproduction. The permit also ensures that the nautical chart material is used on the correct terms.
Before the Danish Geodata Agency can issue a reproduction permit, you must submit an application. The application must be submitted by completing the Danish Geodata Agency’s d application template for reproduction permit.
Once you have completed the template, please send it to the Danish Geodata Agency by e-mail at policyogsalg@gst.dk. The completed template must be attached to the e-mail as a document.
Once the Danish Geodata Agency has received your application, it will be reviewed by a case officer. You will then be contacted as soon as possible by a case officer from the Danish Geodata Agency, who will guide you through the remaining part of the case processing and may request further information if necessary.
